GIANT presents checks to local schools as part of Feeding School Kids initiative
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - The GIANT Company has presented some local schools in the Shenandoah Valley with donations as part of the company’s Feeding School Kids initiative.
Rockingham County Public Schools Superintendent Oskar Scheikl accepted a check from GIANT worth $7,352.83 to help feed children in the district and in the community.
Staunton City Schools (SCS) is also receiving a donation from the GIANT Company. In a press release from SCS, the school district says they will receive $13,347.96.
From January 4 to February 28, customers at GIANT, MARTIN’S and GIANT Heirloom Market stores were invited to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar to make a donation to their local schools’ food programs.
